Inline Lever/Lever

Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle
The uPVC/Composite door handles are made of robust materials and are perfect for doors with multi-point locks that require a heavy duty design. The handles are inline and work off the same spindle and screw fixings so they are easily installed on new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.

The handle can be positioned and angled to suit the needs of all users. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200,000 cycles. This helps ensure that the finish is of high quality and performance is maintained over time. The sprung lever can also be shortened to fit a wider range of locks. This is particularly beneficial in doors with smaller door frames in which the cylinder is further back. A shortened lever can also be used for doors that have a latch which can be operated with the thumb inside.
Lever Pad
The lever pad upvc handle differs from the lever handles that are used on the majority of doors. The handle can use a single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are usually used on UPVC doors with double glazing. They come in a range of finishes & variations.
The handles are available in a variety of finishes including White chrome and Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and is resistant to rust. This gives the handle the best performance and long-lasting durability for its intended use.
All of the UPVC handle lever pad styles come with a spindle and screws, allowing them to be fitted on any new or existing uPVC door. The backplate fixing centres of 211mm allow for a larger size of handle which can often be a benefit when replacing a faulty or worn multi point door lock mechanism. The handle levers are sprung, solving the problem of handles hanging out of their horizontal position when they are not being used.
It is crucial to ensure that the PZ dimensions for both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when choosing the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is also known as the 'handle centre' or 'cylinder centres' and is a critical aspect of matching up the appropriate handles.
After door handles Repair My Windows And Doors have identified the proper PZ size it is important to make sure that the push and lever pads are shaped to fit the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles you require for your door. These are typically of a round or square design with an internal lever and an external push pad.
The majority of UPVC Lever Pads that we offer are sprung. This means that they return to a horizontal position after they are not in use instead of hanging, and possibly sticking in the frame. This keeps draughts out of the building. The majority of UPVC lever pad style handles are available in left and right handed versions which allows them to be put on either side of doors.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks are found on uPVC and other types of doors. They work by using a key that unlock a cylinder that then reveals pins which can be aligned with those inside the lock body, allow them to rotate an revolving cam, opening the door. Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with both internal and external doors typically requiring different levels of security.
Choosing the right cylinder is vitally important; this depends on the way your door and handle are utilized. For instance, doors that are external should be fitted with a higher security cylinder, while doors inside can be secured with a standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders have extra features which can enhance security even more, like anti-drill and anti-bump characteristics.
A euro cylinder must be properly measured to ensure it's the correct size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the central fixing screw hole to each end of the cylinder, including the thumb turn if you have one. If you are unable to measure using the lock in a fixed position, you can take it out of it. A cylinder that protrudes beyond the handle and escutcheon might be vulnerable to attacks such as lock snapping, so it is essential that it's not too long.
The design of many modern cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. They are designed to decrease the risk of attack by forcing the cylinder to rotate in an opposite direction. This helps deflect the attack and keep your doors safe.
Certain cylinders are constructed to withstand snapping. This is a more frequent kind of attack on cylinders, where the break line in the lock is attacked with a special tool to snap off the front of the cylinder and allow the door to open. This is a much faster and simpler method to gain access than through the use of a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the burglary which could hinder insurance claims.
Spring Cassette
The spring cassette is located in the base of the door handle backplate, providing a spring solution and returning the multipoint lock handles back to their rest position after use. The handles had no spring, and would slide when the locking mechanism was removed. This component is the best solution to fix this problem. It also prevents your upvc door from becoming stuck in either the open or closed position, as they aren't easy to close manually.
These spring cassettes are specifically made for use with sprung multipoint locks, they will not fit multipoint handles that are not sprung and you will require a hole specifically cut in the backplate to allow them to fit (please see image for technical diagram). They are a replacement for existing damaged or missing cassettes inside the backplate of the door handle for many kinds of uPVC doors. They are fitted with a square cut-out that can accommodate an 8mm spindle, and they are supplied individually.
These spring cassettes offer a great value solution to the problem of sagging door handles. They are simple to put in and will prolong the lifespan of your uPVC doors.
